Enhancing the PFF FC Dataset for a Better User Experience

At PFF FC, we’re always looking for ways to improve how users interact with our data. That’s why we’ve restructured our dataset to make it more intuitive, efficient, and game-focused.

What’s New?

To streamline analysis and improve usability, we have:

• Split Event Data by Game – Instead of a single large file, event data is now stored in individual game files within the "Event Data" folder. This makes it easier to analyze specific matches without needing to filter through an entire dataset.

• Game-Specific Metadata and Rosters – We’ve organized metadata and rosters into separate subfolders, "Metadata" and "Rosters", with each file corresponding to a single game. This change allows for faster and more targeted data retrieval.

With these improvements, users can now quickly access all relevant data for a specific match without loading and filtering massive files. Whether you’re analyzing a single game, comparing teams, or diving into player performances, this streamlined structure ensures a smoother workflow.

• Tracking Data: Each game’s tracking information is available separately (e.g., {game_id}.jsonl.bz2).

• Event Data: Consolidated event data for all matches is stored in a single file (events.json).
