Arsenal

Declan Rice has been phenomenal as Arsenal continue another title charge this season. Among his fellow centre-midfielders, he’s rated 5th in PFF Passing Grade (85.0), 2nd in crossing (79.6) and 4th in tackling (79.1). He’s also appeared in 3 of the last 4 PFF Teams of the Week with consistently excellent performances.

Aston Villa

Ollie Watkins has the highest PFF Grade for headed shots so far this season with 97.0. Half of his headed shots have resulted in positive grades and 3 of his 5 goals have come from headers.

AFC Bournemouth

Justin Kluivert has the most pressures per 90 minutes with 51.2.

Brentford

Bryan Mbeumo has been a standout performer this season, he ranks 10th in PFF Shooting Grade (82.3), 13th amongst wingers in crosses (79.1) and 3rd among all players in tackle resistance (87.4).

Brighton & Hove Albion

Jan Paul van Hecke has the highest PFF passing grade so far this season (94.5). Only Levi Colwill (2nd with a 93.2) has played more positively graded passes than van Hecke.

Chelsea

Cole Palmer has been excellent in front of goal this season. He’s tied 3rd in goals scored with 7 and has the highest PFF shooting grade with a 99.8. He also has the highest set-piece shooting grade among qualified players with a 93.1.

Crystal Palace

Tyrick Mitchell has the second-highest challenge grade among all players (88.6, trailing only Virgil van Dijk) and the highest among full-backs. PFF FC’s challenge grade encompasses a player’s grade for all forms of challenges such as tackling, defending dribbles, aerial duels and fifty/fifty duels.

Everton

Dwight McNeil has recorded more pressures than any other player this season with 424.

Fulham

When I wrote this article after Gameweek 2 I noted that Andreas Pereira had the highest PFF FC crossing grade and the most chances created after the first two games. That wasn’t a flash in the pan and his form has continued through the following weeks. He now has the 5th highest crossing grade (86.3), the highest set-piece crossing grade (90.3) and the joint most chances created, sharing that mantle with Bukayo Saka (26).

Ipswich Town

Leif Davis is responsible for creating 29% of Ipswich’s chances this season (22 of 75). The left-back has the 7th highest crossing grade among full-back’s (76.8)

Leicester

Harry Winks has completed the most line-breaking passes per 90 minutes among midfielders (9.8).

Liverpool

Liverpool have the highest percentage of direct player pressures (78.63%). At PFF FC we differentiate defenders putting an opponent under pressure as a player pressure or lane pressure.  Player pressure is putting the player on the ball under direct pressure, trying to win the ball back or force them into a mistake. Lane pressure is when the defender presses the passing lane in order to force the ball into a less dangerous situation. A higher percentage of player pressures suggests a more aggressive approach to pressing, a higher percentage of lane pressures suggests a more patient one.

Jurgen Klopp’s high-intensity heavy metal football may be gone, but Arne Slot has utilized the abilities of the players originally signed for that system.

Manchester City

As ever with Pep Guardiola’s City team, you should immediately look at their passing statistics. They lead the league in completed defensive line breaks (37), chances created (151) and completed passing percentage under pressure with 87.0%, well ahead in that category and second place (Aston Villa, 82.87%).

Manchester United

Noussair Mazraoui is the 3rd highest-graded player in defending dribbles (87.3).

Newcastle United

Bruno Guimaraes is 12th in PFF Passing Grade overall and 4th among midfielders (85.2), but his grade on through-ball passes is a league-leading 92.8.

Nottingham Forest

Forest’s incredible start to the season has been in large part thanks to Chris Wood’s performance in front of goal. Tied 3rd with 7 goals so far this season, he has graded excellently in each of our shooting breakdowns. He’s 2nd in shooting in general (94.1), 2nd in shooting under pressure (94.2), and second in headed shots (93.0).

Southampton

Jan Bednarek has the highest clearance grade in the Premier League with a 90.5.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have two players in the top 10 grades for tackling, Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie who are 4th  (84.9) and 6th (84.5) respectively.

West Ham United

The Hammers have two players in the top 10 grades for dribbles. Mohammed Kudus is 3rd with an 87.0 grade and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is 9th with an 84.1. Wan-Bissaka is also the highest-graded full-back in dribbling.

Wolves

Wolves have two players in the top 10 grades for through-ball passing. Matheus Cunha is currently 4th (87.2) and Mario Lemina is 8th (83.6)
