GK: Mark Travers, AFC Bournemouth
A second consecutive appearance in PFF FC’s Premier League TOTW after his side’s first-ever victory over Manchester City. The Irish keeper stood out as Bournemouth battened down the hatches towards the end of the game as City couldn’t find their equalizer. This was partly down to two big saves from Travers, the first stopping a Doku shot in the bottom corner and then denying Haaland from point-blank range. He finished the game with a shot-stopping grade of 80.9 and a passing grade of 78.3.
LB: Antonee Robinson, Fulham
The assist for Harry Wilson’s 90+7 minute winner on Monday night was the perfect finale of an impressive game from Robinson. Defensively he won 100% of the 50/50 duels he was involved in and just under half of all challenges. It was his attacking threat however that stood out for Fulham. Creating 4 chances in total, Robinson was a consistent threat going forward. His PFF FC grades for crossing (78.6 – 7th among full backs), dribbling (77.5 – 2nd among full backs) and passing (84.3 – 3rd among full backs) illustrate that fact.
CB: Jannik Vestergaard, Leicester City
Vestergaard was solid as his side rescued a point from 10-man Ipswich late on, denying them their first win of the season. He only made his return from injury midweek against Manchester United in the League Cup and very quickly looks to be getting up to speed. The centre-back had an 80.4 passing grade, 71.2 aerial duel grade and no position downgrades.
CB: Joe Gomez, Liverpool
Starting the season off as 4th choice centre-back means opportunities have been scarce for Gomez this year especially in his native position, making most of his appearances as a late replacement on the right for Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, when Konate went down against Brighton with an arm injury the defender was called upon and handled himself excellently, as Liverpool came back from a goal down to win 2-1. An 83.2 aerial duel grade and a 70.2 tackling grade shored up Liverpool’s defence.
RB: Ola Aina, Nottingham Forest
Aina has been having an excellent season as Nottingham Forest have pushed themselves to an unbelievable third in the table. He had an 86.1 passing grade (2nd highest among full-backs) and a 82.6 tackle resistance grade, 7th highest in the league this weekend among players facing that many tackles. He put the game beyond West Ham’s reach with a thunderous strike into the top corner towards the end of the game.
CM: Pape Sarr, Tottenham
This was the first league game of the season where Sarr played the full 90 minutes and he produced an excellent display on the ball. His PFF FC passing grade of 91.9 was the best among all CM’s of week 10 in the Premier League and played an important role in Tottenham’s comeback victory at home to Aston Villa.
CM: Sam Morsy, Ipswich Town
An injury time equaliser after playing the last 15 minutes with ten men prevented Ipswich from recording their first league win of the season. Sam Morsy put in an impressive performance in their midfield however. Ipswich’s captain registered a PFF FC passing grade of 87.7 and created 3 chances for his team. He was equally as effective in defence, winning 75% of his tackles and earning a PFF FC tackle grade of 79.5. His form will continue to be important as Ipswich search for that elusive victory back in the Premier League.
CAM: Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United
Bruno Fernandes enters the Team of the Week after an impressive performance in United's 1-1 draw to Chelsea over the weekend. His 94.8 passing grade is not only first among all players at his position, but also first among all players this week. He had 6 line-breaking passes to go along with an impressive 4 chances created. He also recorded a solid 70.4 Crossing grade and a tackle resistance grade of 83.3 (2nd among all players at his position). Of course, we can’t forget the penalty he scored to help get his team a point this weekend.
LW: Matheus Cunha, Wolves
Matheus Cunha was a standout player for Wolves this weekend in their 2-2 draw to Crystal Palace. Cunha's very impressive 90.7 passing grade was 3rd amongst players at his position, and 5th overall amongst every player this week. He had 6 line-breaking passes, with 2 chances created and an assist to go along with it. He received two other grades above 70 this week with a Ball Carry grade of 75.8 and an impressive Tackle Resistance grade of 81.3, putting him at 3rd amongst all players at his position this week.
RW: Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth
Antoine Semenyo was fantastic for Bournemouth in their 2-1 upset win over Manchester City this weekend. He found the back of the net early with an impressive 81.9 shooting grade, 3rd among all players at his position this week. He complimented his good shooting with 82% of his passes completed with 3 chances created. He continued to impress on the ball with a ball carry grade of 83.2 (6th at his position) and tackle resistance grade of 76.4 (10th at his position) as he enters this week’s Team of the Week.
ST: Dominic Solanke, Tottenham
Two goals in the second half from Solanke helped secure Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa this weekend. What was once a 1-1 game, Solanke's 77.5 shooting grade (3rd amongst all CFs this week) helped put 2 past Emiliano Martinez to put Tottenham ahead. He was also very important to his team by winning the ball back with a 70.6 tackling grade, 5th amongst his position this week.
