Premier League TOTW using PFF FC Grades and Metrics - GW2 📊

GK : David Raya, Arsenal

While not being called upon frequently at Villa Park, Raya was ready and waiting when it mattered most for Arsenal. Raya stunned the crowd in Birmingham when he kept Ollie Watkins’ free header out of the goal, and that turned out to be the biggest obstacle between him and a second consecutive clean sheet. Raya earned an excellent 86.3 shot-stopping grade on the day, best in the Premier League for GW2.

LB: Antonee Robinson, Fulham

The American made a definitive claim for a second consecutive PFF FC TOTW appearance in Fulham’s victory against Leicester City. Robinson’s 91.7 passing grade ranked 1st among all fullbacks by a decent margin. Robinson also crossed the ball well, ranking 4th among qualifying fullbacks with a 73.3 grade. To put an exclamation mark on his performance, his challenge grade of 85.6 ranked second at the fullback position, as he has now either led or been second best in that category through two matches.

CB: Josko Gvardiol, Manchester City

With the players further up the pitch claiming more of the recognition in Manchester City’s 4-1 victory, Josko Gvardiol highlighted the club’s strong back line with a solid performance. Gvardiol made his biggest impact in challenges, where he earned an excellent 81.4 grade, fifth best among CBs. Gvardiol’s strong passing output placed him thirteenth at the position, showcasing his great two-way performance.

CB: Max Kilman, West Ham United

Enjoying quite the start to his time with The Hammers, Kilman may have put forth the most complete performance of anyone who took the field in GW2. Kilman’s 92.3 clearance grade and 86.7 challenge grade each ranked inside the top two among all CBs. From the offensive perspective, Kilman also boasted a grade of 73.6 in passing and recorded an assist. He was the only player in GW2 to earn a grade in the 90s, one in the 80s, and a grade over 70.0.

RB: Pedro Porro, Tottenham

Pedro Porro continued his strong offensive campaign with 78.3 crossing grade and 72.0 passing grade in Tottenham’s 4-0 win against Everton. Porro also chipped in defensively with a 76.8 challenge grade and was just one of four fullbacks to top the 70.0+ mark in three separate grading facets.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle

Bruno Guimaraes was a key cog in the works for Newcastle in their draw against Bournemouth. He was a model of passing efficiency, racking up the Premier League’s third-highest passing grade (93.8) regardless of position. Bruno was also a positive contributor in shots, crossing, and carrying the ball while also holding his own defensively with a challenge grade inside the top half of CMs.

CM: Yves Bissouma, Tottenham

Bissouma’s 2024-25 debut was a strong one, highlighted by the blast of a strike from the edge of the box for his first goal of the season. Earning 84.6 grades in both shooting and passing, Bissouma ranked highly in both categories at the CM position to highlight a wonderful offensive outing. Defensively, Bissouma was one of seventeen CMs to crack the 70.0+ mark in terms of challenge grade.

CAM: Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City

The Belgian international held an absolute masterclass in distributing the ball against Ipswich Town. De Bruyne passed with complete precision, breaking countless defensive lines, en route to the highest passing grade among all Premier League players. De Bruyne’s cross deliveries were also excellent, as shown by his 89.7 grade in that facet. KDB was able to capitalize off a mistake by Ipswich’s Arijanet Muric by guiding the ball into an empty net from just outside the box for City’s second goal of the afternoon.

LW: Luis Diaz, Liverpool

Luis Diaz was clinical in Liverpool’s match against Brentford, one in which he opened the scoring after a blazing run up the pitch on a counterattack. Diaz earned the highest shooting grade among all players in GW2. It was not all about finishing, though, as Diaz also earned an 80.3 passing grade, which ranked him inside the top ten positionally.

RW: Noni Madueke, Chelsea

Madueke scored his first senior career hat-trick in Chelsea’s 6–2 away win at Wolves. Relentless on the right wing, Madueke earned a 76.3 shooting grade, which ranked 5th among wings and attacking midfielders. His performance was larger than just the three goals however, with his 71.8 passing grade ranking 24th/76 at his position.

CF: Erling Haaland, Manchester City

Haaland notched his seventh career Premier League hat-trick in just over two years this past weekend, with two of his three goals coming in a span of three minutes and ten seconds. Displaying his offensive versatility, he scored using three very different methods – penalty kick, dribbling past the GK to chip into an empty net, and scoring from distance – and his 83.7 shooting grade led all CFs, while his 70.5 passing grade ranked 9th at the position.
